I’ve been modeling for sometime now, and I have read my share of fashion books and magazines. I notice a lot of people have the same problem: How to look good in front of the camera.

I’m going to provide some basic tips for everybody out there to use so you can take a flawless picture every time.

1. Practice in the mirror. It may sound silly, but looking at your angles and movements in the mirror will let you know how it looks like next time you take a picture. You will soon memorize your muscle movements and know exactly what kind of sexy look to give next.

  • Try different smiles. Most people squint and that not only causes wrinkles on your eyes, it doesn’t make for a flattering face.
  • Angles, angles, angles! If you don’t like something, learn how to make it better. There are tricks with makeup but if you don’t have time, learn how to tilt your face in a flattering way. To the side, head down with eyes looking up…etc.

2. Elongate yourself. People envy models because they are tall and thin. Let’s face it though, the whole world isn’t made that way. Make sure to stand straight up and don’t slouch because that can cause unnecessary wrinkles in your clothes or a pooch that you don’t even have! If you are worried about your arms, put one arm on your hip and stand to the side. Put one leg in front of the other (it makes them look longer)..etc

3. RELAX! You can tell in pictures when people are uptight. Relax your mouth and don’t do a fake smile. If you have to make some cheesy joke to make yourself laugh go for it! The best smiles are the most genuine.

4. Fix your clothes lol! I can’t tell you how many pictures I have seen where I look pregnant because my cute flowy “just had to have it” top poofs out.

5. Never look directly at the lens, ALWAYS, look slightly ABOVE the lens.

6. Try to be serious if you want to take a good picture. It’s fun to goof around and stick your tongue out or do the fake olsen twins signature “duck lips,” but this may not work for you.

Follow these tips and I guarantee you will look FIERCE in any picture you take.
