Pull on a pair of Costume Dept. leggings, and you’re guaranteed to get it. The new L.A.-based line’s first batch of fashionably loud stretch pants will uncramp your style.

They’re not for the faint of heart. Choose from impossible-to-ignore wild animal prints like Purple Panther and Ice Cheetah, the metallic foil-treated tribal geometrics of Kenya Chic, New Diamond’s bronze on bronze shimmer, or the futuristic mash-up of Hologram Forest. Even seemingly subtle styles turn out to be semisheer or have tone-on-tone patterns.

Much of the material (mainly polyester, Lycra, and nylon) is dead stock rescued from the depths of Downtown’s fashion district, limiting the run of each to around a dozen. New looks are introduced often, but once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

So don’t let them just walk on by.
