Dangerously Cool Trends
When I was younger, I would go for one basic type of jean. They were all pretty much shaped the same and you had no choices. With trends from the 70’s and 80’s coming back in style, along with pulling influence from nautical and disco themes, the choices are abundant.
Trouser
Wearing jeans to work has become a reality. In most cases, this jean comes in a wide leg or flared cut, which makes them perfect for every body type. If you do have wide hips, you should let the jean flow from the hip all the way down, de-emphasizing everything else. This look looks very chic with a collared shirt tucked in.
Wide Leg
Slim through the hip and thigh, the leg starts to open up at the end of the thigh, and go straight down. This slims you down and is so very trendy.
The weekend is finally here! Well almost for us west coast folks. It got me thinking about what I’ll wear for a night out on the town (assuming I don’t stay in teaching a busy Izzie how to go outside and come back in).

Here is my look for the weekend evening:
I’m in love with it. Mostly because I already own the jeans and the clutch…now I just need $400 for the D&G shoes. Anybody wanna donate? Anyone?!
These are a few of my favorite things…
I have loved fashionchateau ever since I ran their campaign at myspace. They combine high end clothing and accessories with the carefree feel of So-Cal. I went through their site pretending that I have money (lol) and found a few great items:
This gorgeous purple mini dress by Sky is to die for. You can wear it so many ways its unbelievable. Wear it as is for a night out, wear it over jeans as a super long top…with leggings for some Sunday tea, I could go on!

I love this clutch. It might be hard to pull off depending what outfit you are wearing, but if you are wearing all black it would be a great key piece to throw in.

I LOVE C&C california. You can usually find their stuff at Bloomies. They make cute ass tank tops and tees made out of comfy pure cotton. I mean you would wear them to dinner and then wear it as your pjs.

A sweater dress can be used for so many things. Put a blazer over it to wear to work…hike up the hemline and wear it to a hot date.

Lastly, I love these jeans by true religion. They aren’t for everybody though! Their buttoned pockets can add unwanted attention to your derriere and might even make it look better. And for me, I do have a problem with their inseams…then again I am 5′9 so I’m in the minority.

Since it’s friday, I figure we should go over what to wear this evening. One of the biggest trends for SS/08 is bringing back 70’s GLAM. I’m talking glitter, sparkles, short shorts, bell bottoms, jumpsuits, the whole shabang. Here are some of my picks:

Paul Marciano you have done it again. I found this gorgeous to die for shoe in the pages of Elle Mag in an ad.

I fell in love. You can find it here: Iris Shoe
Normally I don’t go for purple, but it is the perfect spring color. With bright shoes like that you can pair them with neutrals like blacks and jeans. They would go great with a pair of peg leg jeans like these by Hudson:
